Brake power booster on 1999 Chrysler LHS

Whenever I use my brakes, I hear a noise like air to being pushed out. I had my master cylinder checked. Now I'm told it could be the brake power booster. What is a brake power booster and where do you find it?

The booster is the device that provides your power brakes, it makes stopping a lot easier. It does this with vacuum from the engine, and when the booster leaks, you will hear the noise you are describing. The booster is on the firewall, right behind the master cylinder. Here is a picture of one, not your car but it will be similar: http://www.trustmymechanic.com/parts_gallery/brake_booster.jpg
