Typically if all the worn brake pads were replaced properly and new sensors were installed, you just have to leave the key on in the RUN position with the engine OFF for 2-4 minutes and then start the vehicle. This should re-set the Brake Pad warning Light. Why did it come on in the first place, if I may ask?

I had taken the car to a european car specialist to replace brake linings and pads. I tried what you suggested and it did not remove the warning light. I will have to take the car back to the repair shop on Monday. Thanks for taking the time to try to help.

The dealership told me that after 2005 this method does not work and the car must be brought in to have the light and information center reset. Same thing was happening with my 06 525i
