brake light & turn signals not working on 2004 Ford Expedition

My brake lights and turn signals stopped working on my 2004 Expedition Sunday. My running lights are still there and all but I have no brake lights or turn signals. My brother checked the fuses and all are okay, the brake light bulbs are ok also. I do not have the money to take this to a mechanic right now....can anyone please help me? I don't exactly know what the problem is nor do I know how to correct it. Thanks.
