Question: brake light on dash

my brake light comes on from a cold start goes off after warm up should i be worried and ifd so what shold i have checked?

    Check the fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir in the driver's side rear of the engine compartment, top up if required. Low fluid level may be due to a leak or more likely due to front brake pad wear. As pads wear fluid level drops in reservoir.
