Hello maybe someone can be of help... I have a 2005 GMC Yukon and when i turned on the car today the break light on the interior console stayed on as well as an exclamation point and the letter (P)lit up above it. When i began to drive a loud beeping sound went off. It would stop beeping when i pressed down on the break and fully came to a stop. The light keeps blinking and the beeping wont stop when i drive. Not sure what it could be. Im taking it in to the deal tomorrow but wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else and can shed some light on the problem.

Its a warning that your parking brake is applied. If you dont use it you may have bumped it when getting in the truck this morning. Try applying the parking brake then release it. When you apply the parking brake it will hold itself to the distance you push it. If it does not do this the first time you push it thats because it was applied afterall and is now released. If that all fails pull up on the parking brake pedal it may not have enough spring tension to return it to the fully retracted off position.

Thank you for the speedy reply. I tried reapplying the brake and then releasing it again and the brake light is still on and slowing flashing. When I am at a dead stop the beeping sound will not sound off but it starts agian when i drive and will not stop until i come to a complete stop. Any other suggestions?Thank you That worked. When i unplugged the sensor it the light turned off and and it stopped beeping. But what is the problem? Is it dangerous to drive like that?

If you look under the dash at the parking brake there is one wire on a connector going to the parking brake. If you remove this wire the light should go off and the chime no loger sound. This is not a fix it will just save you money until you want to repair it. Its not illegal or anything.
