Question: Brake light

 Rookie

my brake light is on, don't know much about cars. What may be the problem?..Can I fix it myself or do i have to take it to a mechanic?

   Master

  First thing to inspect is your brake fluid level in your master cylinder reservoir. You can look it up in your manual if you don't know where it is. If that is at the top, then yes take it to a shop. If it is low, add some Dot 3 brake fluid and see if the light goes out. If the fluid is low and adding to it does not make the light go out, go to a shop. The brakes are a most important safety system.
