brake lamp on 1996 Lincoln Continental

i need to know how to change the brake lamp. I brought bulbs, but when i read the car book it say something about fuses.

You wont find these instructions in an owners manual, you'll need a repair manual.

Not easy. You have to remove the right or left cover panels inside the trunk. Pull the entire bulb housing out. I suggest you get someone with very small hands to help. If you are changing the cyclops bulbs there are 2 types of housings. One unscrews from the side and the other you have to remove from the trunk as well. Open trunk and look under the deck near the center. There are 2 screws attaching the housing to the deck. Remove these and remove the housing.
