For the past year, every so often my transmission will go into safety mode. The warning light indicates TRANS PROGRAM, and essentially the car still drives just fine and can reach highway speeds, but it just starts from stop really, really slow. This problem typically occurs at the moment I first brake, after not driving the car for a day or so. Then, after I start the car again, let's say at the second phase of a day's errands. The transmission runs fine.

My Cruise Control is Dangerous. At 70 MPH if go to activate CC, two things might happen;
1. the system may not activate at all
2. The system will lurch forward 10 miles over the spead quoted above or any speed it's always 10 miles over.

I have a 2000 740il and have been having trouble setting the GPS. Whenever I try to program the GPS using the dial the menu keeps appearing but I am not allowed to make a selection. Additionally, while the tape player works, the CD player does not (I cannot remove the GPS CD from the its case).

When the cooling fan kicks in it is making an abnormal sound (since i bought the car in May 2009). It is very loud compared to other vehicles. But the engine is not overheating or anything. Is there anything wrong with the fan clutch?

Oil, water and electrical systems are ok. All electrical systems are working when the key is turned on but the starter will not engage witht he key. You can activate the starter with the solenoind from under the car but the car still will not start

The seat heater on the driver side gets extremely hot in one spot to the point of burning. The control to turn it down does nothing. I can either have it off or burn up. I've been told I have to replace the entire seat! Help! There must be a rheostat or something to replace...
