1st the car is a 1987 BMW 300 series, not a choice. I replaced the alternator as the car was not charging. Now it charges fine, but three days later it started intermittently refusing to start. When it does this, the starter does not click, it can not be jumped, and repeated turning the key does not result in starting. I have to push start it, occasionally this happened several times in a row. Later it will start just fine several times in a row, then it won't start again. Now the last three days it starts fine, so I am at a total loss. The car drives great, and the problem did not start until after the alternator was replaced, but I had been push starting the car for 3 weeks, while I waited to get to the shop to replace the alternator myself. the fan will not turn off when the car is
switched off. i replaced the blower motor resistor not to long ago, so i don't think that's the problem but i am not sure what else can be the problem. i took the fuse number 50 out to turn the blower off because it drained my battery.

when I fill the gas tank, fuel leaks out. I have seen where it is coming from but it is leaking fast enuf that there is a large pool starting about midway of the car immediately after fill up but it seems to stop after the gas hand gets to about 3/4 full.

The electric fan run if the engine is on always. The air conditioner is off and the engine is not even warm. All the coolant temp sensors seem to be working. The relay is not sticking because with the key on engine off and a scanner I can run the fan on then off. Anyone have any ideas.

A few weeks ago my service engine light came on. So I went to auto zone a borrowed there OBD2 scan tool. The codes displayed were P0171 & P174, system too lean in bank one and bank two. Next I read up on the error codes and I checked a few things. First I checked the air filter and it was filthy. The date on the airfilter was February 2004.....looks like air filter was Never changed, so I changed it. Next I cleared the codes with the OBD2 scan tool and the next day the light came on. So the next step I took was to clean the mass air flow sensor and that did not work either....I still get the same error code :-(. Now I need to know how can I check for vacuum leaks? I see no damaged hoses. Should I take my car to the BMW dealer? I'm still under warranty until may 2010, but I'd hate to... More

In 2006, I bought a certified 2004 BMW 325xi. After about a year, the cooloant light came on, and the BMW service manager said this is common on this vehicle. Hew said just top it off which I did. Is there a bigger problem he is not telling me about. There are no leaks.

My radiator light inidicates my coolant is low and I check and refill it with antifreeze. Within a 2 or 3 weeks the coolant needs to be refilled again. The car does not leak anything while parked. Could this be leaking while I am driving? Thanks
