2001 Volkswagen Beetle Question: BLUE COOLANT LIGHT IS ON MOST OF THE TIME. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. CODE PO118

FAILED SMOG. TOOK IT TO SHOP. GUY SAID HE REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT AND TWO SENSORS. WHEN I PICKED IT UP THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS OFF BUT BLUE COOLANT LIGHT STILL ON. NEXT DAY GOT A SMOG IT PASSED. THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. WHAT COULD BE WRONG?

    your blue temp light comes on when car is cold then goes off when warm thats normal. po118 is coolnat temp sensor circuit is high. if he replaced sensor you may have a wiring problem. take it back and tell him your issue and ask them to repair at n/c

    no there could be ressistance above specs in the wiring or corrision at the plug
