Helen, you can get a free estimate for the head gasket replacement here: it doesn't include the machine work, but that will probably run around $75 - $100. This is the first blown head gasket I've heard of on this vehicle. How many miles do you have on your HHR?

I have a 2008 Chevy HHR. I blew a head gasket and there is other things that are wrong with it. I was given a quote of $7000 to get it fixed. I still have the car but I am still paying for it too. What is the average cost for this kind of mechanic work.
