Question: blown 140 amp fuse

what would cause the 140 amp altinator fuse to blow? have had to replace it "on the road" twice on last vacation while towing trailer.

    You'll need to start by looking in the harnest for any wires that my be touching also check the positive battery cable to make sure it's not grounding out anywhere.
