The problem beagn with an erratic performance of the blower motor. It would run at different speeds and ultimately would not shut off even with the key removed, folowed by an electrical burning smell and then nothing would work. It was the final stage unit (aka the fan resistor) $220.00 to fix at the local gargae.

A/C fan speed fluctuates regardless of setting. Purchased replacment final speed unit from Pelican Parts for $29.00 and replaced myself in under an hour. While replaceing unit, noticed evidence of the part being previously replaced, so this may have been the second failure since new. ( I am second owner )
