2005 Nissan Altima Question: Blinking Service Engine Light and Misfiring Issues in 2005 Nissan Altima

Hi, I've been having trouble with my 05 Altima. Periodically, the SEL will blink and the car will start to shake and shimmy (misfire). It will do this for 2- 3 minutes then suddenly stop, the blinking service engine light will go off, and the car will run as if nothing happened. It will run fine for a couple weeks and then randomly do this again, the same thing. I've went to multiple mechanics, including Nissan, and no body seems to be able to figure out what's wrong. Any ideas out there? Thank you so much!

You mean none of the mec,,,, people you had to check it out could find anything wrong and no trouble codes?

Correct. I've went to three mechanics total. The first told me it was throwing O2 sensor codes and so they replaced one. A couple months later I had to go back and they changed both 02. When I got really cold here is when the car started to really act up. I took it to different mechanic and they said it was throwing to cylinder misfire code (no, really, I could have told them that!. They said I needed a tune up and my fuel injectors flushed. The car ran fine for two weeks, then, long and behold, the problem returned. My car is currently at Nissan and they claim they can't find any code at all in the system, therefor, they say there's nothing they can do for me.

Well i can make a pretty good guess at it, one,, or more,, of the iginition coils is intermittently breaking down! Those misfire codes should have led a 'mechanic' to the trouble! ... 4 or 6 cyl eng? Just curious.
