The heat shields can spark plug wires can be very difficult to remove on your 2002 Chevrolet Silverado remove without damaging the spark plug wire. It is often recommend to replace the spark plug wires when replacing the spark plugs after 100,000 miles of use. That being said, the best way to remove the spark plug wires and their metal sleeves is to use a twisting motion to brake loose the spark plug boot. Once the boot is loose you can then pull the wire off. The heat shields should be reinstalled.
