I would like to extend a warm thank you to Oscar and Gary. They were very easy to work with, and they let my vehicle sit in their lot until I was able to pay them the money owed to fix my fuel pump. My vehicle drives great, and they even put the preexisting gasoline back in my tank.
They gave me a very, very reasonable price, and they worked with me in honor of all of our verbal agreements.
If you have any vehicle problems, and you are concerned as to who you might trust, take your vehicle to these guys! They are great, and they are up front and honest in their business negotiations!

The first time I came to Ben White Automotive, the gentlemen explained to me the differences in synthetic oil and conventional oil and the pros and cons to each. It was very helpful since I didn't know much about either and they made me feel very comfortable and seemed knowledgeable! I am new to town, so I'm thankful I found a place that I know will take good care of my car.

Great customer service and very honest. At times going to any mechanic one sometimes feels that they are going to tell you something else is wrong with your vehicle in order to get more money out of you. Here at Ben White Automotive they did a thorough check of my vehicle and called me of other small problems that needed to be fixed so later on down the road it would not make my vehicle worst. I appreciated the information and the honesty. Would recommend this shop to a friend.

Update: UNETHICAL - do not trust them! After the 3rd time of going back to get our brake job done right and taking careful odometer notes and gas tank readings, on 2 separate occasions of leaving our car with over half a tank, we were left with Empty fuel light on both times! And a hamburger wrapper tossed on our floor. they would not admit to any fault. Not to be trusted

was excited about the great reviews and found Oscar to be very informative up front and honest about repair expectations. However I was not called in a timely manner and had to try calling several times over a couple of days to get reach Oscar regarding status of repair. after driving my car off the lot with new brakes and rotors i noticed immediate noise when beaking. Took advice and let it work itself out to no avail. Now have to spend my families time dropping car back off to fix their error?Flag ThisLike0Reply from Ben White Automotive - Ben White Automotive, September 29, 2012 11:13
The rear brake rotors that we installed on the first visit were noisy, They were warrantied out at no charge. We made a $140.00 repair on the broken glove box at no charge to the customer for the inconvenience of having to return the vehicle. We performed a major timing belt service as well on the return visit. We apologize for the low gas, The customer was given $30.00 cash to help fill the gas tank. We did not steal the gasoline and we did not eat a hamburger in the car.

We took our 2006 VW Jetta for a clutch replacement to BWA and was very happy with they work & great customer service. I had gotten several quotes before we selected them to do the work. They keep us informed with the work and took the time to answer our questions. My next car repair I will just take it to them knowing that we will be taken care of and treated fair & honestly.

After 170 dollars, the problem was still not fixed. It was just buried for about two weeks.

Customers car came in with gas cap missing which in turn set several evaporative emissions codes. Gas cap was replaced, codes cleared and monitors re-set. No other problems were found or detected at the time.

They did an excellent job on ours. We were told by another automotive station that we might need to just trash the car. They said that we might need a whole new motor, or just sell it to another person. Two different people said that. They were able to fix it for around 700 dollars. It is running perfect.

One of the things they were supposed to do was change my wiper blades and they only changed one of them, not the other one.

Customer came in complaining that the windshield wipers did not come on. It was determined that the windshield wiper switch was faulty. The customer was informed that the passenger side wiper blade was torn and that both blades should be replaced. Customer had us replace the faulty wiper switch but opted to not have his wiper blades replaced by us. The wiper condition and the recommendation to replace them is documented on the customers original invoice of which we have a signed copy.

Be, t maintanance experience I have ever had. Oscar and Kevin spent the needed time with me so we together could decide what needed and should be done to our car prior to a trip. I left there feeling good about the work that was done. They have a customer for life. I did not have a appointment and they fit me in and completed all the work in a timely manner. They even covered the cost of a rental car for me.
Thanks Oscar and Kevin as well as the mechanic who work on my car.

My experience with Ben White Auto was amazing. I called in the morning to get my window regulator fixed and explained to them that I had to have it done by 1 o'clock so that I could get to work. They didn't promise anything, but of course had it done before I needed it. The guys there were so friendly and they really seemed to care about me and my car! They also did great quality work at a good price!

I had problems with my brakes and battery that were leaving me stranded all over town. The guys at Ben White Auto really know their stuff and helped me get my car back in shape. Its good to have a shop you can rely on with friendly staff. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else.

I have a 1990 Toyota Celica. I had new brakes installed about 6,000 miles ago (in Maine). They never felt right. Since moving to Texas I took the car to many shops (including a Toyota dealer) and was told the brakes were fine. The brakes were not fine and Ben White Automotive replaced them and performed other necessary work. I won't be going anywhere else for service.

Ben White Auto has the soul and integrity of a small town local mechanic but with the expertise and professionalism of a top-quality facility. They are there to help get your car back and running, not just to make money off of you. It's hard to find a repair shop that gives that kind of service in Austin. Ben White Auto was highly recommended to me by several people, and I'm so glad I went there.

Recently took car in for brake work. It was expensive but another shop gave a higher estimate. I believe they gave me a fair price. I assume the work they did was fine. When they called me to say the car was repaired I asked to see the used parts. They said they didn't have the parts because they were just hauled away for recycling. I have been searching for a reliable and trustworthy shop for quite a while and I hope I have found it here. I will certainly try them again.

I'd had the brakes "fixed" at another shop in San Antonio. They neglected to tighten down the brake caliper correctly - thus it was starting to come off! I would have been driving with out a brake on the front end. It was making such a horrible noise that I felt like I couldn't drive the car - so I had it towed in at 7am to the shop on the south side. They really took care of me. They got me a complimentary Cab to work - my employer was pleasantly surprised to see me there on time, even though I'd already notified them that I thought I would be late. They fixed the brake caliper and put new struts on (I already knew the struts needed to be replaced). I'll be taking my car back.

I came here on a recommendation from a friend who took there car here several times, and really liked the place. I ended up taking my own car here, and the guys there took a look at it. The problem ended up being my rear breaks that just needed readjustment. They did the readjustment, and because it was such a minor problem they did at no charge. I will definitely come back here again!
