Question: Belt Tensioner Adjustment

Question

I replaced my serpentine belt with an el cheapo from Auto Zone. It was quiet for three days and it started squealing again. I replaced that with an expensive NAPA belt. Again, three days later, the sqealing starts. Is there an adjustment on the belt tensioner?

No adjustment on the tensioner. Check for a faulty pulley (spin them with no belt on, any resistance?) or out of alignment pulley.

Thanks for the information. I stopped at my local Ford dealership. Problem is the rocker arm cover gasket my mechanic recently replaced was not installed correctly and leaking oil on the belt. The car is back in the shop to replace the gasket and a new belt.

Well, that is one thing I would never have suggested, having not known about your rocker gasket! Glad you came to a resolution point.
