I can no longer recommend Begleys.
I am in my 60’s, and my friend Sarah is in her 20’s and from out of town.
My engine over heated, towed to Begleys. Diagnoised: Intake Gasket, manifold, thermostat and gasket, 4 hrs labor, antifreeze, oil change, ignition wire, and another hr labor cleaning spark plugs and ignition wires $868.91
Then when I picked it up, no air ! Nothing but HOT HOT air blowing. It has just been topped off with Freon a few months before.
quoted me $400 something for a USED AC control panel. When I asked w what warranty: 30 days. I opted for new part 1 yr warranty $835 part 1.5 labor (with used part they quoted over 3 hrs of labor) with tax, part tax total $1025.31
I questioned them and they made me feel that I was accusing them of dishonest practice. I said it seems very strange that I bring it in for one thing with perfect air and now it doesn’t work, they would question it too if it was them.
Then we had a guest staying with us and her engine came on and we suggested Begleys. (big mistake)
Radiator, antifreeze, labor oil change total $376.63. We had to pick it up after hours, but Immediately when it started she got hot air from her airconditioner, exactly what happened to me. She said she HAD the best air in her car. What happened.??? I recommended Begleys to her and when she told me, I had to tell her what happened to me. But Begleys made me feel I was stupid and they they said they didn’t touch my air, when they fixed my heating problem. BUT WHY BOTH OF US, SAME PROBLEM ? I think this is proof something was done to both of our cars.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. My friend can’t stay around, she lives in AK, travels constantly and who has a $1000 to get their air fixed ESPECIALLY WHEN IT WORKED GREAT BEFORE BEGLEYS AUTO. I had to borrow the money.
I feel so responsible for recommending Begleys.
Sarah tried to open the hood to her car and it will not budge. She can't get it open and the front grill is also loose and there was no problem with that either before she took it in for repair. I want my money returned and Sarah wants Begleys to pay for her repairs that they caused. Then everyone can go forward and put this bad experience behind them.
Called this shop on Sunday, they were closed (we are in TN). Received a call back first thing Monday morning to gather the info they needed to put a quote together. Got the call with the quote about a half hour later. They got me in the same day and had the work completed on-time and on estimate. Perfect, kind and competent service!
