install a new alternator, after instsllation and hoook up the battery post the brake lights stays on left side briter than the right side what ib the heck is going on

    Check the brake light switch. It may just be a coincidence but if it isn't adjusted properly
    the brake lights could stay on. There is a rubber bumper on the brake pedal arm that the switch contacts and it will wear out over time, throwing the switch adjustment out of wack.
