Battery Warning Light is an indication that alternator is not charging. was the light on when you brought the car in to have the problem diagnosed or is the problem intermittent? I suspect the alternator has a problem. If the battery light comes on the alternator is not charging the battery.

    Similar problem
The battery light came on in my wife's 02 Focus a few days ago. I didn't think too much about it since the headlights had started flickering in idle and the car has 90k. Replaced the alternator (a real handy thing to get to- had to pull motor mounts, winch the engine and cut an unnecessary elbow of the engine pick point) and now I have the battery light and engine light on. The engine light is a P0190 & P0193 (related to voltage to the fuel rail sensor).
