My car stopped dead while I was driving! Nothing worked! I coasted to the side and lifted the hood to check for any loose wiring including the battery cables. The car started and I proceeded four more blocks and it died again. I repeated the above again and it started again. I got home (8 miles) and did a closer inspection. I found the positive side post of the battery had been stripped and was hand loose. The question I have is, will a loose positive battery cable kill an engine while running? When the car died it cleared everything, clock, odometer trip, radio settings, a/c settings, power locks, windows, everything! Should I replace the battery? The terminal on the battery is stripped. But the battery cable end bolt is still in good shape. Thanks James
