CAN I REPLACE THE BATTERY IN MY VW PASSAT 2007 OR IS THIS SUCH A HIGH TECH JOB I HAVE TO PAY VW 200.00 TO DO IT?

2007 Volkswagen Passat Question: BATTERY REPLACEMENT

You can do it, but be sure to get the correct battery and be sure to disconnect the negative terminal first and attach it last to the new battery. While replacing the battery have the key OUT of your ignition and all the doors closed and all lights off. Just the key in the ignition with the ignition still off starts many of the computers or keeps them running.

Man, thats it. I think I can manage that. I wonder why VW wanted to charge me so much money to do it. I just gave them 508.00 for a oil change and a engine oil pump replacement. I only have 50,000 miles on my Passat 2007 , I just thought that was kinda weird for a engine oil pump to go out.
