1991 Honda Civic Q&A

1991 Honda Civic Question: Battery light on

My battery light just came on last night on my 1991 Honda Civic DX 4dr Auto. My battery is less than 2 years old and is a Honda Battery. Why would this light come on? -
Answer 1
Looks like the alternator failed and won't charge the battery. Ask for a charging system test to see the exact problem. Zee -

The car starts up fine and it's not hard to start at all! -

Yep, as long as you have any power stored in the battery, but when it will be used up you won't be able to start it anymore. If your alternator still put out some charge, but it is low, it will also damage your battery. Make sure the alternator belt is tight, but get a charging system test! Some parts store will do it for free. Zee -
