The battery light only refers to a charging system failure. The most common cause of failure is a faulty alternator or internal voltage regulator assembly,
Naturally verify proper battery operation (full charge, sustains power under load, etc) and then test the charging system for alternator output - amps and volts.
Thank you Dave, you were spot on. Today i went and had an alternator replaced (lifetime warranty) and my 2 month battery was replaced with a 72 month warranty. Labor cost $90..which is lots cheaper than most. Battery dummy light is out (yippie)lights are brighter and I have no worries,,Thanks again,
