Question: battery going dead

 Rookie

problem started suddenly, had battery checked @ autozone diagnosed w/ bad battery w/dead cell. replaced battery then had altinator checked and altinator was charging 11.5 all fuses checked and are properly working all contections are good , help

    If you test the charging system at 2000 RPM, and you only have output of 11.5 volts, you most certainly have an alternator problem (internal diode / voltage regulator issue).

    Good news about the battery - in order to get a valid charging system test, you indeed had to purchase a new one following your food results. Money well spent.
