1994 Buick Park Avenue Q&A

1994 Buick Park Avenue Question: Battery Dies

Battery goes dead after a week without starting the car. Took into shop, which could find nothing wrong. Any ideas on what could be causing the battery to drain so quickly. Thanks. -
Answer 1
It can be very difficult to find the problem when a battery goes dead over a short period of time. The shop should have checked the battery, connections, alternator, and excess draw on the electrical system with the key off. If they checked all of those things and you are still having a problem then you could have a battery that is beginning to fail or some electrical component which is turning on and off intermittently. An extended electrical draw test may be necessary to confirm an intermittent electrical draw. -

My park avenue did the same thing. I found that the stock radio was not going to sleep and the battery would drain over a period of time. -
