Battery Corrosion on 2003 Nissan Murano

I have had to clean the terminals the last two months because of extreme corrsion. Is this because the battery was dying?

This may be from an overcharging battery, or more likely the battery is old and leaking. If the battery is over 4 years old, I would replace it, clean the cables real good with a acid neutralizer like baking soda.
No what you should do is clean it good, use a metal brush then use paint to paint the terminals finally use grease to grease the terminals
