I used to trust this shop, until I brought my 2006 Volvo XC70 in for maintenance & new brakes. When I picked it up, the service rep told me that I'm going to need a new radiator soon because they noticed some fluid seepage...or something like that. Since I had just spent about $500 on the maintenance & new brakes, I told him I'll have to wait on it. "You should get it done before the summer!" I was told.

I had a friend check my car. He saw no evidence of leakage. He told me to keep an eye on the meter that determines if the car was too hot. (Over a year later, it never happened.)

I spoke to the shop manager about this, and he was apologetic, and said maybe the rep was jumping the gun. Ya think?

My rating is neutral, because up until then, for the 8 years that I had been dealing with Barrier, I was happy with them. I felt they were honest.

In any case, I recently traded in my beloved XC70 for another car...which is not a Volvo. I have to say, this experience weighed on my decision to NOT to buy another Volvo.

I took my S80 T6 in to get some concerns addressed. Everyone I worked with at Barrier was super friendly and considerate. They're a little more expensive than other Volvo shops in the area (hence the 4/5) but I felt like they treated me well and were honest people. Plus, they were very quick, fuel pump in/out and suspension off in one day. Would recommend for serious Volvo repairs.
