what is an axle seal leak in the front of my accord? How is this repaired? - Visitor

I was charged $153. for replacing a front axle seal. I was told there was a leak. the part is only $18. so I was wondering if it is a difficult job?

We just had our front axle seals replaced because the dealer said they were leaking badly. After have the job completed, we noticed that the overall noise level when the car is being driven on the highway has increase significantly. Any ideas why?
The problem becomes more noticeable on the highway at higher speeds 50+ mph and is very noticeable compared with before we had the repair on the axle seal done.
