The front passenger automatic window goes off track 1/2 way up and goes to the outside of the weather striping and leaves a gap at the upper corner where water can get in. What part(s) need attention in this case?

2000 Chrysler Concorde Question: Automatic window goes off track on way up

It's probably a problem with the door window regulator, which is the part that guides the window and delivers the window motor power. They are common trouble-makers.

Could this problem be due to the window glass lift plates? If so, it that a part on it's own or part of the window regulator or window motor?

Good question--it could be, but it depends on your car and how it's designed. It's not going to be a part of the motor, though--it may be part of the regulator assembly.
