The problem was that when coming to a stop, I would get the sensation of letting a manual transmission car stop without engaging the clutch; i.e. a shuttering sensation. The diagnosis was that the shift solenoid "E" encased in the transmission was faulty (PO770). The problem is that this part has been replaced twice within a 12 month period leading me to believe there is something really wrong with the diagnosis, treatment and possibly the transmission itself. Any assistance on this problem will be appreciated as the dual repair cost now exceeds $1,000.00.

I TOO HAD A SHUTTER ON DOWNSHIFTING WITH THE P0770 CODE IN THE COMPUTER. I WORK IN A REPAIR SHOP AND WE DECIDED TO FLUSH OUT THE TORQUE CONVERTER TRASH FROM THE BAD DOWN SHIFT AND DISCONNECT THAT SOLENOID. I DO NOT TRAVEL IN THIS CAR BUT BACK AND FORTH TO WORK SO NOT HAVING OVERDRIVE WASNT AN ISSUE AND IN THE INTEREST OF MY FINANCES, THIS DECISCION WAS MADE. NOW SIX MONTHS DOWN THE ROAD, THE TRANSMISSION IS WHINING...ugh
