Message from the Shop

AutoLab was founded in 2006 by Certified Master Technician Jason Colson. He has a lifetime love of working on cars which began when he worked on his father’s race car at Bandimere Speedway as a boy. He has long dreamed of owning his own auto shop, and now that he has achieved that dream, he works hard to ensure that everyone who comes to his shop gets the best treatment and service possible.

Jason believes that everyone deserves to have a high-performance automobile. Whether your car is designed for speed, efficiency, reliability, or ruggedness, it should perform optimally according to its engineering specifications.

We perform a full range of services on American, Asian, and European automobiles.

We also practice environmentally responsible practices in our shop. We offer closed-cycle recycled oil for your car. Like “new” oil, this recycled oil comes straight from the refinery. It’s just that this refinery doesn’t take oil from the ground, it takes used oil from mechanic shops. It offers the same performance as other motor oils.

Autolab provided me with a detailed PDF document, including photos, of what they had examined and found, along with recommendations. The manager then called me to walk through the file and thoroughly explain everything. They were nothing but friendly and professional throughout.

Had an axle seal replace but the part store gave them the wrong one. Took truck home noticed it was still leaking. Drove it back and they fixed it right. Thanks Autolab!

Overall not the best time with Autolab. It took over a week to get an estimate for repairs and then another 3 weeks going back and forth with insurance to fix, which is definitely insurances fault, but all communication only happened when I called in asking for an update until Wylie took over, and then communication was great. We had a window replaced, and was told the car would be taken to the car wash and glass would be vacuumed up, but car was not washed and there was still all of the glass in the back seat.

Disappointed. Shop did not have my appointment on the books so repairs took 5 hours. Brought my own brake pads to be replaced and shop did not use them. Instead they charged me for their brake pads. It was mentioned I should replace my windshield wipers. I told them I actually had replacement blades in the front seat of my car. I didn't ask them to replace them but it would have been a nice touch considering the high price of labor and long waiting time.

Wiley was great about making sure I got a ride home and explaining to me what was going on with my truck. I just had surgery the day before I brought my truck in, so his kind way of treating me was very much appreciated. I really liked the electronic report they sent me detailing all the work they did on my vehicle.

I thought they were over priced and they didn't do much on my car. I paid $150.00 to replace a cap and a hose and the cap was not replaced properly it was just sitting in the engine, not even screwed in.

I believe they are over priced. They did the repair and charged me $65 for tightening three screws. The really over charged me. I have heard the shop was good and that may be so but I still feel the charge was too high. I could have taken it to a dealership and paid $10 more and gotten a full diagnostic report. The screws are not tight enough.

When I first went there they were very small and they have had a lot of turnover by employees. The owner is a really nice guy but every time I talked to someone there it was a new person.

I thought I had problems with my brakes. I expected that I would need to leave my car there. They gave me a ride back to my job and my car was fixed that afternoon. It turns out it was worse than I thought, it was a leak in the back brakes. The mechanic was the instructor in my daughter's karate class, so I felt like I could trust him. Actually all the mechanics were straight forward and polite. I would even tell my Mom to go there and she is picky.
