Had taken my car to replace the engine belt, and they did a very bad job.
The mechanics lifted the car several times (~6-7 times) to adjust the belt. When I asked the manager/technician, he suggested me to let them do their "job". The belt ran squeaky and they suggested it is normal in the beginning. I took it to another shop, first thing they asked me who did the job. They installed the wrong belt and was a non OEM generic brand.
Sorry, but they are never getting any business from me or any of my friends.
If the manager himself cannot tell you that service X will cost you Y amount of dollars BEFORE doing the work, he is either shady, slow or incompetent.
Such is the case with Mr. Anthony Pete there who is allowed to wear the manager's badge.
Simple story of mine:
I called to ask if they can fix/handle the driver's side window since they're a lube place. He said they could. I asked if they could look at it today. He said they could. I go in 15 mins later and he hands me a simple form with name, address, car info, etc.
NO WHERE ON THE FORM IS THERE MENTION OF ANY KIND OF MONEY. But one would assume the manager would say "hey, this checkup will cost you $40+ dollars... you want to do it?". Instead, he takes the keys... has the car in the bay for literally 5-6 minutes and tells me it'll cost $350+ to replace the motor. Ok, thanks for telling me something I already knew since the WINDOW DOESNT OPERATE!

Instead, he demands I pay $42.50 for the 5mins "diagnostics". When exactly did I consent to something that cost money? No, instead this guy wants to sit there and teach me a lesson on how "nothing in life is free... how do you expect for free work.. etc, etc". And how I OKed the work over the phone. Oh really? Who in their mind would agree to pay for work when the garage hasn't given a quote (let alone even seen the car!).
Sure, but is it not COMMON SENSE to let your customer know BEFORE DOING ANY WORK that it'll cost them money?
If something so simple is difficult for the manager to understand then I can't imagine what else is possible there.
Shady. Incompetent. Untrustworthy.
