yea the other day i went out to start my car and it gave me a little trouble but it started and that light came on.so i went down the road and shut it off for like 20 mins or so and started it back up and the light went off...but today i was letting it idle and it jus shut off and that light that light came on again and stayed on what is it?
the engine is missing both at idle and when accelerating
This is a recurring but intermittent problem the dealership claims is related to the age of the lamps and ballasts and that the entire front end has to be removed to repair it; the fault can be cleared by cycling the headlamp switch from auto to off; internet research suggests it is a known design issue ... what are the facts and what is the best course of action for permanent repair? Thanks.
I have an '05 A4 Quattro. I've replaced the all four of the ignition coils each twice myself. I continue to have issues with the coils going bad. I finally took it to a shop to get looked at and they talked to me about putting in higher grade coils, which I did. Makes sense as I was using generic parts previously to save some cash. Well now I'm still experiencing issues with my ignition coils going bad. Any suggestions on what may be a root cause, or am I doomed to replace coils every 5K miles? Thanks.
05 quattro v6,purchased at 50k,exhaust tone and mileage went way down after about a month, started hard shifting and hesitating,i thought it was a transmission problem, took to local trans shop they said -it needs a rebuild for 7k! could not supply a specific explanation -worn out on the inside was all i got from them.i started it today and it was running like absolute crap at idle and 40-50 mph baaad hesitation ,i swear it sounds like bad catalytic convertor. at idle it was clearly almost backfiring -sounded like inside the cat,low sound, can anyone help me out?im a single dad with no income -is it the cat? already? and shouldnt that fall under the 80k federal catalytic warranty?thank you all
My steering wheel is vibrating at low speeds, 10-20 mi/hr. It's not as bad at the higher speeds. is this an issue with the front tires needing to be balanced?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
What are some brands of higher quality, OEM specification parts name brands I should consider for my new brakes and rotors? Thanks!
The dealership checked and said everything is firing ok in the engine. But, the first 10 minutes are sluggish in the morning. Someone suggested that the Quattro needs the highest octane level of gas, could this be the problem? (I'm using the cheapest grade)
The dealership said I need new brakes & rotors (front, just brakes on the rear), and boy was the quote expensive (out of the repairpal range!). When I call around to the independent shops, Is there a certain brand of brake pads/rotors needed for an Audi? Are there certain parts brands that will last longer (i.e. bosch is 50% more expensive but will double usage?) Thank you.
Could not find out what making the noise while the car is running. sounds like something loose.
What could cause the engine light is on?
