Atomic Auto does good work, they know Saab well but to me they are not a good fit. I took my car there when I got stock close to there shop and my car would not start. It turned out to be a defective battery and an easy fix but when I asked that they check the car for some necessary services, they recommended some very expensive repairs Among them: replacing the engine mounts, that my regular saab guy thought were only cosmetic. Replacing my muffler because of some rust on the outer shell which according to my mechanic are only there to protect the inner shell and do not need a replacement until there is a hole on the inner shell as well which can take years, and so on. (By the way atomic included "scarry pictures" of all the "defects" , including the rust on my muffler, that were obvious fixes to the untrained eyes, until my mechanic explained that what I see on the pictures are nothing to worry about.) I guess I am more of a small shop kind of person and will stick to my no-nonsense saab mechanic who has been servicing this car for 9 years and saved me thousands of dollars!
They are pretty good but not amazingly prompt at getting thins done. The prices are not much less than top dollar. They are very responsive to emails. They do tell you everything that is wrong. They are knowledgable and helpful regardless of whether yo get the work done there. Once they forgot to put some parts back but fixed things in a fine manner. Seems they charge significantly more for parts than I can find them for on the Internet. Rebuilt and new.
After going to the local Saab dealer for years I'm kicking my self for not finding Atomic Auto sooner. Not only have they been great at diagnosing and repairing my Saab 9-3 they do it for much less then I was paying. Once you go to Atomic Auto you find out how much you were getting screwed going elsewhere.
