I myself felt I was overcharged when it cost me $1,200 for an upper and lower ball joint plus labor, disposal fee, and tax. I figured it was because of the type of vehicle I had (larger truck) but then I took it somewhere else to get a free estimate out of curiosity and was told $350. I was also told I needed a wheel alignment. So it seems Archer replaced my ball joints but didn't even align my front end.
I most certainly would never refer Archer to anybody.
I have to first say that I have taken all my vehicles here for about 6 yrs and have had very good service and the best prices. The problems started when my son was way over-charged for service, then after I was married, I sent my husband there & he was charged so much for a simple oil change & tire rotation, it was embarrassing after I told him Archer had such fair prices. My son and I just got back today from there after being charged $50 for an estimate on his vehicle! Never has there been a charge for an estimate on any car I have taken in.
I have always recommended them, but will not anymore. We are wondering now if Joe who runs the place is against men! It sounds silly, but can't figure out what is going on. I am moving out of state, so won't need them anymore anyway, but thought I'd let people aware of this.
