my van needs a antifreeze plug put in. I know I was told the engine would have to come out to put it in but want to know the cost.

The book shows 12 to 13.5 hours times the shops hourly rate to remove and replace your engine not counting changing the freeze plugs, Get another opinion as someone might be able to change the freeze plug without pulling the engine out

Good idea, it is always a smart thing to get another opinion befor spending that kind of money for a freeze plug. However to replace any freeze plug can be very time consuming.
