Antifreeze Leak on 1999 Buick Century

I have Buick Century 1999, (3.1 and 6 cylinders) which is leaking coolant from somewhere below the water pump and next to the timing cover (gasket). The first occurence was three weeks ago, the second time was yesterday and this morning again. The trace of coulant on the ground is about 3 inches in diameter. I went to two different repair shops: the first told me that was a bad water pump that needs to be replaced, the second one, which had replaced the same water pump 9 months ago, told me that the coolant is leaking from the timing cover gasket. Your experience and advice is greatly appriciated. Chris
