Anti KnockSensor on 1998 Subaru Legacy

hi autotechpat, Thanks for your speedy response. How do you get access? Can you get at it by removing the alt and Power steering pump? Please don't tell me that I have to remove the intake. Thanks, Jon G

Well you are lucky. Looking in from the drivers fender the sensor is at the back of the engine drivers side just near the throttle housing. It has a 12mm bolt securing it, it is easy to replace and Subaru OE sensor is inexpensive in comparison to other manufactures. Do not over tighten the knock sensor securing bolt it will damage the sensor.
