It could be leaking from several places, listed in likelihood of leaking
    -Expansion tank
-Thermoswitch o ring (Bottom radiator hose)
    -Radiator
    -Thermostat housing
    -Water pump
-Coolant hose from expansion tank to engine spout, due to p/s reservoir hose leaking onto the hose causing swelling and deterioration.
    -Heater tap

Simply have the car checked by your local mechanic, found in our "Find a shop" tab at the top of the screen.

    Goodluck

If the car has a lot of miles and you've already done the standard coolant fixes it could be the plastic heater return pipes located under the intake manifold. Just did this fix on my '01 330i with 226,000 miles. The plastic gives out from heat and had cracked at the O-rings as they enter the head. Big job and had to pull the manifold, but not impossible. Saved over $1000 in labor!

I recently changed out the antifreeze reserve tank for the radiator and that seemed to solve it.. I had the same problem with my 02' 330i.
