For future reference, try to have the shop note this down or provide the codes so you can note it down for your records. Is the check engine light on now? My normal response here is to take it back to the shop where you just spent $700 to fix a problem that wasn't fixed. But you did that. Did you talk to the owner or the manager of the shop?
Thanks so much for the update, this is the kind of story we at RepairPal love to hear! Please make sure you post a review of Terry's shop so others in the area will know about the excellent service Terry provided. http://repairpal.com/terry-wynter-auto-service-center-inc
Thank you. I received a very caring call from Terry Wynter. He explained that Repair Pal had thought it was his business that the complaint came from. Interesting. I brought my car to his shop yesterday. I have never been treated with such thorough customer service or with such respect. His policy is that the customer ride with the service man in assessing the problem. That is new to me. Then he referred me to a nearby transmission shop. Lee Co. Transmission. Again, I was included in the assessment, the problem was explained to me in detail. The car was electronically checked (solonoid) and the report was neg. for problems. The transmission continues to jerk, mostly between 5 & 10 mph. He advised that he suspects this is a Computer related issue. I was told what to be aware of but it is OK to continue driving. He encouraged me to return if issue escalates. I returned to Mr. Wynter and he discussed the problem also. Both service people explained how my car computer works, but made sure that I understood that I was to return the car if problems worsen. It was the caring by all and the willingness to explain the issue to me that helped me to continue driving without fear of something going very wrong with my car. We will now use Terry Wynter for all our auto concerns. He is an amazing person.
