Question: Alternator needs replaced?

Year is actually a 1988.
Car will start, but dies immediately after starting, but will stay running if gas is pressed, but of course dies immediately after letting off the gas.
What sounds like the problem?

not the alternator. take it to a shop and have them check it for vaccuum leaks.

Not the alternator, that sounds like a fuel flow problem, maybe dirty injectors
