alternator on 2002 Jaguar X-Type

The + contact on the battery heats up after 15 minutes of engine running. Cleaned contacts on stare and battery. Also cooling fans run for 15 minutes after engine is off. I used a volt meter and noticed the alternator is 14.4 volts no matter what options are turned on or off

The alternator should charge at 14.4 to 14.7 volts that is normal. Connections should not get "hot". Is your car a 2.5 or 3.0L? Ensure the coolant fans staying on is not due to coolant loss, leaking coolant expansion tanks were a problem. Cooling fan modules failed but normally caused the cooling fans not to operate at all.
