just bought car 'factory programcar 17000miles .temp was 10degrees .wwhen i turned key nothing happened but everthing else worked definetely not abattery or contact problem.note sonhas a g.m.impalaand every 15ooomiles hast this problem turnsout tobe starter module.does merc have this0?advise please note gm is ver common without perm. fix

I would ensure the shifter is in park or neutral when cranking. Even move the shifter handle sometimes. You could also have an issue with the Digital Transmission Range sensor. Tells the transmission and engine processor what gear you're in, to allow the starting mechanism to function.

Best to catch the concern in the act, then check it out.

Lastly, look to see if the antitheft system light is flashing when you turn the key on. If so, you may have a Passive Anti Theft system issue.

hey how is it going , what did you find out was the problem, My Marquis starting doing this two days ago as well. Very cold here and same symptoms as yours, and for no reason at all will just up and start after several attempts . TY mike
