Could be one of these 2 switches depending on which transfer case your jeep came with (vacuum or electric) Both are available at Napa auto parts or www.napaonline.com or int the case of the vacuum model a vacuum hose leak Transfer Case Select Switch, (4) Ports; Product Line: Balkamp Part Number: BK 6002943 $9.99 Features & Benefits Duplicates Original Equipment In Fit & Function Warranty 12 Months or 12,000 Miles Whichever Occurs First Attributes # Switch Terminals : (4) Ports Transfer Case Switch Application Information: 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Comments: w/ 231 Transfer Case;w/ Vacuum Switch Transfer Case Select Switch, (1) 2-Prong Connector; Dorman Automotive Product Line: Balkamp Part Number: BK 6002942 : $23.99 Features & Benefits Duplicates Original Equipment In Fit & Function Warranty 12 Months or 12,000 Miles Whichever Occurs First Attributes # Switch Terminals : (1) 2-Prong Connector Contents : (1) Transfer Case Switch Application Information: 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Comments: w/ 242 Transfer Case;w/ Electric Switch

this answer makes no sense, the transfer case does not have a vacuum or electric front disconnect like some other Jeeps and GM suvs with similar transfer cases. Probably the viscous coupling if it is Quadratrac all-time 4x4.
