2000 Volkswagen Jetta Question: Alarm horn
The theft alarm goes off when I start the car. I have been told the repair is about $400.00. I would like to simpy disconnect the wire to the alarm, but I don't know exactly where it is. Is it under the dash or in the engine department? Will disconnecting it cause any problems? - skidog77
Simply disconnecting the horn (in the engine compartment) will get rid of the noise but the alarm will will still be on , causing starting problems. You need to consult the wiring diagram to fully disable the alarm. - spyder
