Question: Alarm horn

The theft alarm goes off when I start the car. I have been told the repair is about $400.00. I would like to simpy disconnect the wire to the alarm, but I don't know exactly where it is. Is it under the dash or in the engine department? Will disconnecting it cause any problems?

    Simply disconnecting the horn (in the engine compartment) will get rid of the noise but the alarm will will still be on , causing starting problems.
    You need to consult the wiring diagram to fully disable the alarm.

    COULD YOU TELL ME WHERE THE HORN AND WIRING ARE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT ON A 2000 VW JETTA, SO I CAN DISCONNECT IT. THANKS, JIM
