If the check engine light is coming on it is finding a fault with one of the sensors. The MAS is one of the sensors that is monitored and should leave a code number for that problem. You can take the car to a local auto parts store like Advance, AutoZone, O'Reilly's they will scan the PCM for you free. Unplugging the sensor will not fix the problem and may cause you to have others.

yes i understand someone told me a way to check if the sensor is working is to disconnect it and see if tyhe problem is still there and it is so does that mean that the sensor is working or not working
Changed fuel filter, air filter. No luck. Changed plugs and wires. Big improvements at low speed. Still won't get up and go. Could it be a coil or catalytic convertor ? Check engine light is on.
