The problem doe need to be properly diagnosed before just guessing at which parts to replace. Call shops in your area and see if they have a scan tool that will read Chevy airbag systems. It doesn't necessarily have to be the dealership.
There is a company that independent auto repair shops get their information from, this same information is available inexpensively for people that work on their own cars.. The information is year make and model specific, covering repair procedures, torque specifications, fluid capacities and specifications, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect.... Not through onstar but a full enhanced scanner not just a OBD2 code reader.
