fuse is okay
recently the passenger seat was moved forward and back very fast and hard - could this have cut a wire-connector?

1999 Chevrolet S10 Question: air bag light stays on how do I check connections for seats and the belts?

Did you look to see if it did? We can't!

That would be my question - where exactly would one look and how to go about that process. My additional question is also noted with the comment that the passenger seat air bag has been off for years and if I now turn it on the light on the instrument panel goes off. What to make of this and what would be the problem and how to address it?

Take a flashlight and look under both seats for any damaged wires. System can be scanned as well.
