After replacing ignition lock cylinder does the computer need to be reprogramed on 2000 Chevrolet Impala

I need to replace my igniton lock cylinder in my 2000 impala. After the replacement does the computer need to be reprogramed

I changed it in my wifes cavalier had to let it set for 24 hrs computer then recognized new lock radio may need to have theft code set
